Are there completely free dating sites for over 60s in the UK?

Why "completely free" is so rare
Running a dating site properly costs money: moderators who check photos, systems that catch scammers, customer support, and the advertising that brings new members in. Sites that charge nothing at all usually pay for it with advertising, or by being very large and general. That is not automatically a problem, but on a free-for-all site you should expect more fake profiles and more people who are not serious, and you will need to be more careful.
For the over 60s, there is a second catch. The free general apps are dominated by people in their twenties and thirties, so the free messages you get may be spent searching for anyone your own age.

- Spend your daily messages well. Write to two or three people you have something in common with, rather than ten with a one-word hello.
- Check in daily for a week or two. Suggestions change as new people join.
- Only pay when you know there is someone to talk to. Then a single week of VIP is enough to find out.
