People marry later in life too. The Office for National Statistics reported that the number of brides and grooms aged 65 and over rose by 46% in the decade to 2014. Setting up a profile in your seventies
The things that work at 70 are the same things that work at 40, with fewer games. A clear, recent photo matters more than anything; ask a grandchild or a friend to take one outdoors in daylight. Then write a few honest lines about your days: what you do on a Tuesday morning, the last trip you enjoyed, what you would like more of.

- Mention practical things gently. If you no longer drive, or you care for someone, say so in a line. It saves misunderstandings later.

Fraudsters do target older people. In 2025, according to City of London Police, people aged 55 to 74 suffered almost half of all the money lost to romance fraud in the UK. The pattern is nearly always the same: lots of affection very quickly, a reason they cannot meet, then a request for money. No genuine person will mind if you say no.
