Comparison
Single 60s vs eharmony for the over 60s
One begins with a long questionnaire about your personality. The other lets you start browsing in minutes.
Which should you choose?
Pick eharmony if you like the idea of a detailed compatibility questionnaire doing the first round of choosing for you, and you are happy to pay to see full profiles. Pick Single 60s if you would rather look around yourself, among people over 60, with a free account that already lets you send a few messages each day. Both are free to join, so you can try each without commitment.

Questionnaire versus your own judgement
eharmony was founded in Pasadena, California, in 2000 and is known above all for its Compatibility Quiz. You answer a long series of questions, the site builds a Personality Profile, and you are shown people it considers compatible. Some people find that reassuring, particularly after a long marriage, because it does the sifting for them. It does take time to complete, and its matches are the site's choice rather than yours.
Single 60s takes a lighter approach. You tell it the age range you want, how far you will travel and whether you are after friendship or romance, add a few interests, and you can start looking straight away. The daily suggestions use those answers, along with lifestyle details and how recently people were active. By 60, plenty of people know their own mind and would rather read a profile and decide for themselves.
The free account, compared
On eharmony's free membership you can take the quiz, view profiles, and send likes and first messages; seeing all photos and the full Personality Profile needs a paid plan. On Single 60s, free members get a profile, browsing, daily suggestions, a limited number of messages each day, and can reply to any VIP member. Paying for VIP removes the message limit; every price is on our prices page.
Is either one safer?
Both take safety seriously. On Single 60s, uploads are screened by software and people, there is a free ID check and a live video check, and you are warned if someone tries to take your conversation to another app. Read how Single 60s protects members, and whichever site you choose, treat any request for money as the end of the conversation.
Using both
Nothing stops you trying eharmony's quiz and keeping a Single 60s profile too. If you are comparing several sites, our round-up of over 60s dating sites takes in the rest, and Single 60s vs 60s Love looks at another site aimed at the same age group.
