Over 60s dating in the East Midlands
The region where women over 55 outnumber men over 55 on Single 60s most clearly. Men in their sixties, take note.
The highest share of women over 55 on the site
In the East Midlands, more than a third of the women on Single 60s are 55 or older, the highest share of any region. Among members over 55, women are in the majority, at more than half. Only the South East comes close; in every other region the older men outnumber the older women.
The region also has a younger older crowd. Just over half of members over 55 here are 65 or more, compared with two thirds in the South East and Yorkshire. Put those together and the East Midlands suits people in their late fifties and sixties especially well, and suits men looking for women their own age better than any other part of the country.

Where members live
Leicester and Nottingham are the towns named most often, and there are members in Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire too. The three cities of Nottingham, Derby and Leicester sit within about thirty miles of each other along the M1 and the Midland Main Line, so a twenty-five mile search from any of them reaches the other two. In Lincolnshire, distances are longer and members fewer, so set a wide circle and mention that you are willing to travel.
For men, the practical upshot of the figures above is simple: you do not need to search ten years younger to find women in your age group here. For women, the men over 55 are a slightly smaller group than elsewhere, so a profile with a clear photo and a few specific lines about your week will stand out. Mention the things people around here actually do, whether that is the cricket at Trent Bridge, a walk on the Monsal Trail or the allotment.
Where to meet for the first time
Nottingham
Wollaton Hall and its deer park on the west of the city are a good afternoon out, and the Arboretum near the centre is a quieter walk with benches and a bandstand.
Leicester
Abbey Park by the River Soar is free and flat. The cathedral quarter, where King Richard III is now buried, has cafés and a visitor centre for anyone who likes history.
Derby and the Peak District
From Derby it is a short drive or bus ride into the Peak District. Bakewell, Matlock Bath and the Monsal Trail are popular with walkers of all speeds, and there is always a tea room at the end.
Lincoln
Lincoln Cathedral, the castle walls and the cobbles of Steep Hill make a memorable first meeting, if your knees are up to the hill.
